How we serve

Because real, long-lasting transformation comes from God, we depend on His wisdom and power – especially in the hard places where we serve. Unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain.

As an international, interdenominational fellowship, we boast a rich diversity of vantage points, cultural backgrounds, and denominations – and stand united in Christ because of our common confession. Our convictions and approaches sometimes differ, but we extend charity, offer flexibility, and foster unity.

Christ has not only called his followers to himself, but into a community. In his family, we love, encourage, and strengthen one another. As we invest in these relationships, we become more like Christ and reflect his love to those around us.

Collaborating with like-minded partners here in the United States and around the world allows us to send more laborers and serve more effectively. By leaning on the expertise of locals and the strengths of other organizations, we’re better equipped to align our efforts to community needs, establish trust, and work respectfully and sustainably.

We believe living authentically and consistently in our public and private lives matters. Because integrity is a key aspect of our witness, our cross-cultural workers do what they say they do and do their jobs to the glory of God.

We prioritize whole-life discipleship and serving others in the same way Christ did: by loving the whole person in word and deed. Integrating work, life, and worship allows us to display the character of God and meet both physical and spiritual needs.

As Christ’s disciples, we humble ourselves and serve. We care for the marginalized, prioritize others, and work with excellence for the good of local people.
